In countries like the United States, there are many areas where space is available at a premium. With increasing value and prices of properties, especially in the prime areas of the country such as New York City, every extra inch of space is much more expensive than ever. Bunk beds are certainly not very innovative as other bed layouts such as pull-out beds, or the ones that can be hidden up the ceiling, but they certainly are very effective instruments of saving space on beds. For starters, bunk beds take up the space of just one bed while housing two adults (or children) in relative comfort. And they sure are much less expensive and easier to set up as compared to other innovative bed arrangements.
Many manufacturers allow customers to choose extra options and customizations when buying a twin bunk bed, such as an addition of extra stairs, bookcase on the side or pull out drawers for storage, or even a full hidden pull out bed known as a trundle under the lower bunk. This allows buyers to customize and opt for those extra features to save even more space in the process, making the most out of these bunk beds. If well organized, the contents of an entire room can fit into the drawers and wardrobes of a customized bunk bed, giving the room a neat and clean look.
